Reservations can be accepted up to
one year in advance and be made Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
on our toll free telephone line at 1-800-634-1667. Our local telephone
line is 912-634-1667 and our fax number is 912-638-4392. At this
time, we do not have the capacity to accept online reservations.
Current guests in our accommodations have the first right of refusal
for the same property at the same time the following year. We ask
that you notify us if you would like to take advantage of this first
right of refusal no later than your depature date. If we do not
receive your notification, we will allow others to reserve the property
as of your departure date.
MINIMUM LENGTH
OF STAY
All of our properties
require a 3-night minimum stay. Two-night stays can be arranged, with
the guest responsible for the cleaning charges, which can range from
$40.00 to over $200.00. One-night stays cannot be accommodated at
all. During our busy summer months, we reserve the right to require
a 7-night minimum stay in any of our properties. Shorter stays may
be accommodated, but not less than 10 days' from the desired arrival
date and at the discretion of Real Escapes Properties.
We ask that our guests
secure their reservations with a Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American
Express card at the time of booking. Alternatively, if our guests
do not wish to secure reservations with a credit card, we require
a 25% deposit within 10 days of reservation. We require your payment
in full at the time arrival or on the next business day. We accept
Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, check, money order or
cash. A $25.00 fee will be assessed to all returned checks. Any balances
not paid by check out will be automatically charged to the credit
card on file.
Georgia law requires
that state sales tax and county hotel-motel tax be collected on all
rentals of less than 11 days. One rentals of more than 10 days and
less than 91 days, only state tax is collected. No tax is due on rentals
over 90 days.
CANCELLATIONS
AND REFUNDS
We understand that,
occasionally, circumstances will prevent you from making your trip
to St. Simons Island and try to accommodate our guests fairly when
this happens. We do require notice of any cancellations. If you notify
us more than 30 days from your arrival date, no penalty is imposed.
If you must cancel your reservation with less than 30 days' notice,
we must impose a 25% penalty unless we are able to rebook the entirety
of your stay. If we are able to rebook your stay in its entirety,
the penalty is waived. No refund will be granted for voluntary early
depature or eviction.
We know that when
you book your reservation with us, that you have specifically chosen
a vacation property and look forward to spending your time on St.
Simons Island in that particular property. Every effort is made by
Real Escapes Properties to accommodate that preference. However, there
are occasionally circumstances that arise that prevent us from honoring
a reservation, be it major emergency repairs, a change in ownership
or some other unforeseen circumstances. In the event of this type
of situation, Real Escapes Properties reserves the right to change
accommodation assignments without notice or liability. If a comparable
property is not available, our guests will have the choice of either
selecting another Real Escapes Properties vacation accommodation at
the published rate or cancelling their reservation, without penalty.
TELEPHONE
SERVICE AND CHARGES
Most of our vacation
accommodations have telephones, though not all. Your unit's telephone
number will be on your confirmation and on your key tags when you
check in. There is no charge for local telephone calls. Please use
your credit card or a calling card for long-distance calls.
If you need to receive
mail during your stay on St. Simons Island, please have it sent to
our office at 406 Ocean Blvd., St. Simons Island, GA 31522 and we
will notify you when it arrives. Our guests are welcome to use our
office fax machine at any time during business hours for no fee.
Most of our properties
do not have separate telephone lines for Internet service, though
a few do feature DSL or cable modems as unit amenities. If this feature
is important to you, please inquire at the time of booking which properties
feature Internet access and we will make our best effort to accommodate
your needs.
Real Escapes Properties
cannot assume responsibility for any items left behind. However, if
you notify us promptly after your departure that you have left an
item, we will make every effort to locate it and return it to you.
All returned items are sent via US Postal Service and carry an additional
fee of $15.00, plus postage.
Unless prior arrangements
are made, check in time is 3:00 on your arrival date. Please check
in at our office at 406 Ocean Blvd. Check out time is 10:00 am on
your departure date. We ask that you complete the following items
prior to departure:
In the event that
you depart your accommodations before or after business hours, please
slip your keys through the mail slot at our office.
Our regular office
hours are 9:00 am until 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. If you arrive
after business hours, please come to our office at 406 Ocean Blvd.
and you will find your check-in package, including keys and direction
to your property, in the late arrival area outside the front door
of our office.
All of our vacation
properties are furnished with linens and towels. You may want to pack
beach towels, however, as these are not provided.
It is the policy
of Real Escapes Properties to not rent any of our vacation properties
to individuals under the age of 24., unless accompanies by a parent
for the duration of the stay. Any tenant occupying a property under
the management of Real Escapes Properties under false pretenses will
be evicted without refund.
We expect all of
our guests to behave in a manner consistent with being a good neighbor.
We will not tolerate any loud or inconsiderate behavior. Any guest
whose behavior creates a nuisance or disturbance will be evicted and
will forfeit their rental payment.
Several of our properties
are designated pet-friendly and are easily located on our website.
Because we believe strongly in the honor system, we do not charge
pet fees in most of our properties. Some of our pet-friendly homes
do require a refundable deposit. However, we do require a valid credit
card on file in the event of damages and request that you respect
our rental homes and condominiums and clean up after your pet here
as you would at home. Please do not bring pets into vacation accommodations
that are not specifically designated pet friendly.
Each tenant is provided
with two sets of keys to the unit. If there are additional keys needed
for community amenities such as pool, tennis courts, fitness center,
laundry center, etc., ome amenity key is provided. We are unable to
provide additional keys. We request that all keys be returned to Real
Escapes Properties office upon departure. Due to the increasing problem
of keys not being returned, we will now have to impose a $25.00 surcharge
for every key not returned upon departure.
Each rental unit
is furnished with a starting supply of toilet tissue and bath soap.
Any additional supplies needed will be the responsibility of the guest.
It is the general
policy of Real Escapes Properties to retain a valid credit card on
file for security deposit purposes in the event of unpaid charges
or damages to your rental property during your tenancy. However, there
are certain properties in our rental program that do require the collection
of a security deposit. This security deposit is returned, less any
itemized deductions, within 30 days of departure.
